Defaults

What every new output inherits when nobody touches it — and the one switch that can lock itself.

Settings → „Defaults“ holds a single card: „Label-Defaults“. The form on the left, a live preview on a sample image on the right.

Its opening sentence says what this is: „Vorbelegung für neue Derivate im Editor — pro Derivat weiterhin frei übersteuerbar.“ (Defaults for new derivatives in the editor — still freely overridable per derivative.) Nothing here compels anything. What can compel is the marking obligation, and that sits on the same page in a block of its own.

Owners and admins only.

The signed-in product speaks German, so its labels are quoted in German throughout, with the English rendering in italics.

The seven fields

FieldWhat it sets
„Label standardmäßig aktiviert“ (Label on by default)Whether a new output starts with a label
„Template“The label family
„Variante“ (Variant)The variant from it
„Anker-Position“ (Anchor position)One of nine cells in a 3×3 grid
Size & margin„Automatisch“ or „Manuell“
„Rand“ (Margin) and „Größe“ (Size)Visible in manual mode only
Rotation0°, 90°, 180° or 270° clockwise

Placement offers the anchor only, no free position.

The two sliders have ranges worth knowing: the margin runs from −10 % to +25 % — a negative margin lets the label overhang the image edge. The size runs from 0 % to 60 %.

In „Automatisch“ mode both sliders disappear entirely. In their place stands the sentence that size and margin are computed per image so that the label's largest mandatory text stays legible. The stored numbers survive as the fallback.

There is no default for automatic variant selection. The family decides that itself: with more than one variant, the editor chooses automatically.

The switch that can lock itself

„Label standardmäßig aktiviert“ is locked exactly when both hold: the marking obligation is set to required and its scope is „Alle Assets“ (all assets). It then shows „an“ (on) by force and says beside it: „Durch die Label-Pflicht für alle Assets vorgegeben.“ (Dictated by the label obligation for all assets.)

Under an obligation scoped to „Nur KI-Assets“ (AI assets only) it stays operable — there it reads „Vorbelegung für Assets ohne hinterlegte KI-Herkunft — für KI-Assets gibt die Pflicht sie vor.“ (Default for assets with no recorded AI provenance — for AI assets the obligation dictates it.)

The lock does not change the stored value. A stored "off" is kept; only the switch displays "on". Under an active obligation the default is moot anyway, because the editor then switches the label on by itself.

What applies with no saved defaults

In a workspace where nobody has ever saved, the editor opens with the label on, the system family and its default variant, anchor bottom right, 3 % margin, 30 % size, automatic size and no rotation.

The marking obligation in that situation is on, its scope „Nur KI-Assets“.

Once anything has been saved, the stored values apply.

What the defaults do not cover

For video, „Label standardmäßig aktiviert“ has no effect. A video derivative always carries a label. Every other field — template, variant, anchor, margin, size, mode, rotation — still applies there.

In the batch wizard the anchor from this page is the fallback for placement: a batch has no single canvas to drag on, so a hand-set position is reset to it.

The preview

On the right sits a fixed sample photo — not an image from your workspace. It can be enlarged in a dialog.

The preview always renders with the label on. It shows placement, not whether new outputs start with a label. If the default is off, a sentence below the preview says so.

In automatic mode it does not show the stored numbers but the ones computed for this sample image. If the chosen variant is not calibrated, automatic mode does not apply; the page says so below the form and points to Settings → Labels.

Saving

The button is inactive while saving is in flight or while no template and variant are selected. After saving, „Gespeichert.“ (Saved.) appears and the page reloads — only then does the new state apply.

Defaults and the marking obligation are saved in one operation. One click writes both.

Switching template sets the variant to the new family's default. If a saved family no longer resolves to a selectable one — because it was deactivated or hidden — the choice falls back to the system family.

The record

Saving writes „Label-Defaults geändert“ (Label defaults changed) to the audit trail. The entry keeps template and variant — not anchor, size, margin or rotation.

The three obligation fields get entries of their own, and only where the value changed: „Label-Pflicht geändert“, „Label-Geltungsbereich geändert“, „Label-Sperre beim Anlegen geändert“.

What can go wrong

„Nicht gefunden — möglicherweise wurde es inzwischen gelöscht.“ (Not found — it may have been deleted since.) The chosen template no longer exists.

„Die Eingabe wurde nicht akzeptiert. Bitte prüfen und es erneut versuchen.“ Among other cases, when the chosen variant does not belong to the chosen template.

„Dafür fehlt die Berechtigung.“ Your role may not change the defaults.
