Label templates
Label families and variants, the EU catalogue, your own SVGs, and calibration.
Settings → „Labels“ holds what the visible mark is drawn from. The page has two cards: „Label hinzufügen“ (Add label) and, below it, „Labels“ with the list.
Owners and admins only. Without that role you get a 404 page — even knowing the address.
The signed-in product speaks German, so its labels and messages are quoted in German throughout, with the English rendering in italics.
Family and variant
A label family is the mark: „AI GENERATED“, an EU marking, one of your own. A variant is one rendition of it for a background — black artwork for light images, white for dark ones.
A family with no variant does not appear in the editor. The management list shows it regardless, with an explanatory sentence in place of an empty row of tiles.
The EU labels from the catalogue
The button „EU-Labels hinzufügen“ (Add EU labels) opens a dialog with six fixed entries — three marking texts in two fill styles each:
| Entry | Fill |
|---|---|
| „KI-generiert (EU, transparent)“ | semi-transparent, for use over the image |
| „KI-generiert (EU, deckend)“ | opaque, for maximum contrast |
| „KI-verändert (EU, transparent)“ | semi-transparent |
| „KI-verändert (EU, deckend)“ | opaque |
| „KI (EU, transparent)“ | compact round „AI“ signet |
| „KI (EU, deckend)“ | the same, opaque |
Each entry brings a light/dark pair. What you add becomes a family of your own workspace — renameable, deactivatable and deletable like any other afterwards. The two variants are named automatically, „family — für helle Bilder“ (for light images) and „— für dunkle Bilder“ (for dark images); the light one is the default.
Catalogue labels arrive calibrated. They carry the „Kalibriert“ (Calibrated) tag immediately.
Adding the same entry twice is not possible: the dialog shows it as „bereits hinzugefügt“ (already added), and an attempt made anyway ends with „Dieses EU-Label wurde bereits hinzugefügt.“ (This EU label has already been added.)
Whether, and to what extent, the EU AI Act requires a marking from you depends on your role and on the individual case. This is not legal advice. verstag supplies the markings and applies them; which of them you need is your call.
Creating a family of your own
One field: the name. At most 120 characters, unique per workspace regardless of case — „Kampagne“ and „kampagne“ exclude each other.
After creation the family is empty. It appears in the editor only once it has at least one variant.
Uploading a variant
Via „+ Neue Variante“ (New variant) on the family. It needs an SVG file and a statement of which background it is for.
Exactly one variant per background. If one is taken, the option reads „(bereits vorhanden)“ (already present) and is disabled. If both are taken, the button disappears entirely.
The file has to meet these conditions:
- At most 128 KiB.
- Well-formed XML with
<svg>as the root. Only a fixed set of drawing elements is permitted. DOCTYPE and entities, processing instructions and allon…event attributes are not allowed. - These fonts only: Roboto,
sans-serif,serif,monospace.
If the file is refused, the message names no reason: „Die Eingabe wurde nicht akzeptiert. Bitte prüfen und es erneut versuchen.“ (The input was not accepted. Please check and try again.) The list above is the complete answer to what it might mean. An empty file is the exception — the browser reports that at the field itself.
Two things happen automatically on upload:
- The first variant of a family becomes its default.
- The technical key is derived from the display name („Helles Logo“ →
helles-logo, on collisionhelles-logo-2). It is not an input field and does not change when you rename.
The SVG source can be viewed on the page but edited nowhere. A correction means: upload a new variant.
The system family „AI GENERATED“
It sits at the top of the list carrying the tag „System“. It belongs to the platform, not to your workspace, and cannot be renamed, deactivated, deleted, or given another variant. The interface does not offer those actions at all.
Its two variants are named „Light text — for dark imagery“ and „Dark text — for light imagery“.
Instead of deactivating there is „Ausblenden“ (Hide) per workspace. It takes the family out of the editor's picker only — outputs already saved keep rendering unchanged. Conversely, a family of your own cannot be hidden; deactivating is what that is for.
Deleting
Only while nothing references it. Beside every family stands a count of references — derivatives whose saved specification names it. Above zero, the delete button is disabled and explains itself on hover.
The last variant of a family cannot be deleted. To be rid of the family, deactivate or delete the family.
Delete the default variant and the oldest remaining one takes its place.
The delete button takes two steps: the first click arms it, the second confirms.
Calibrating
Calibration answers a single question: which text has to stay legible?
verstag measures the artwork for that; you only name which text group counts. What counts is the largest text belonging to the marking: „AI“ has to stay legible, the qualifying word may recede.
- Where detection is confident, the suggestion is pre-selected and one click on save is enough.
- Where it is not, nothing is pre-selected and the save button stays disabled until you choose.
- Where the measurement finds no text at all, the dialog goes straight to drawing a box by hand. For a dragged rectangle only its height counts.
Whether you confirmed the suggestion or overrode it appears in the tooltip of the „Kalibriert“ tag together with the timestamp.
„Unkalibriert“ (uncalibrated) may stay a permanent state. The dialog can be left at any time with „Später kalibrieren“ (calibrate later); the variant is long since saved by then. The consequence: size and margin are not computed. The label is still burnt in — with the manually set values. The editor states that as a hint rather than a warning.
The dialog measures once, on opening. Errors while measuring appear under the preview, not as a system message.
The record
Every change to families and variants is written to the workspace's audit trail: created, renamed, activated and deactivated, hidden and shown, deleted, variant added, renamed, deleted, set as default, calibrated.
