My account

The personal account page is not part of the workspace settings. You reach it through the user menu at the foot of the sidebar, entry „Account-Einstellungen“ (Account settings). A member has no settings area — they still reach their own account.

The page has four blocks: the identity header, „Sicherheit“ (Security), „Präferenzen“ (Preferences), and — only with more than one membership — the default workspace.

The signed-in product speaks German, so its labels are quoted in German throughout, with the English rendering in italics.

Display name and email

Both in the dialog „Profil bearbeiten“ (Edit profile), opened by the „Bearbeiten“ button at the top. Without a name set it reads „Kein Anzeigename“ (No display name).

The display name is capped at 80 characters. An empty field removes it — the hint says so: „Erscheint im Menü und in der Mitglieder-Liste. Leer lassen entfernt ihn.“ (Appears in the menu and in the member list. Leaving it empty removes it.) After saving, the user menu and the header show the new name at once.

Changing the email takes two steps, and the confirmation links go to both addresses — the old and the new. The address changes only after confirmation.

If you enter your current address, the page says: „Das ist bereits deine aktuelle Adresse.“ (That is already your current address.) Whether another address is already taken, the message does not say. Anyone changing the address several times in quick succession is held back.

Password

The row knows three states:

• Password set → „Ändern“ (Change)
• None yet → „Passwort festlegen“ (Set password), sub-line „Noch kein Passwort festgelegt.“
• Managed by the identity provider → nothing to do here

At least 10 characters.

To change it you need your current password and a session that has already satisfied the second factor. Setting one for the first time drops the "current password" field.

If your workspace requires sign-in through the company account, the password and two-factor buttons do not disappear: the sign-in requirement applies to a workspace, your account reaches beyond it.

Two-factor

Authenticator app only. Setup shows a QR code and the key in plain text; confirmation is a six-digit code. An abandoned wizard can simply be reopened.

Optional — unless a workspace requires it. Then entering that workspace takes you through the same setup once before you can carry on. See Two-factor requirement.

Recovery codes

They come into being at the moment you confirm the first code — not before.

There are ten. Each is 16 characters long and shown in groups of four; confusable glyphs such as zero and O or one and I do not occur.

They are displayed exactly once. There is no view that shows them again later — only „Neu erzeugen“ (Regenerate), and that invalidates every previous one.

The „Recovery-Codes“ row appears only with an active factor.

What redeeming a code does

Redeeming a recovery code switches two-factor off. It does not raise the session to the higher level; it removes the factor entirely. Afterwards you sign in again without a second factor and set two-factor up here from scratch.

The sign-in screen says so beforehand, and says it again after the redemption.

Signing out everywhere

The row „Aktive Sitzungen“ (Active sessions) ends every sign-in your account holds: the phone, the second browser, the borrowed machine you signed in on once and never signed out of. Including the session you press the button from — you land on the sign-in page and sign in again.

This covers your whole account, across every workspace.

It takes effect at once. Another device with a page still open is signed out on its next click.

No password is asked for. The row is therefore open to accounts that sign in through the identity provider and have no password here at all.

Two smaller routes sit alongside it:

• „Abmelden“ (Sign out) in the user menu ends this one session.
• A password change ends the remaining sessions and leaves the current one in place.

Timezone

In the „Präferenzen“ block. It affects how times are displayed — not exports, which are in coordinated universal time throughout.

The default workspace

This block appears only if you belong to more than one workspace. What it does is covered under Workspaces.

Where the old addresses lead

/settings/account redirects here, /settings/workspace to the member page. Old bookmarks keep working.
