Signing in
Password, second factor and workspace — the steps from the sign-in page into your workspace.
Signing in starts with an e-mail address and a password. Up to three further steps follow, and each of them only stands in the way if it is set up for your account or your workspace.
The signed-in product speaks German, so its messages are quoted in German below, with the English rendering in italics.
The order
- Sign in with e-mail and password. Below the form stands the second way in: „Mit Unternehmenskonto anmelden“ (Sign in with the company account). It does not lead to another page — it removes the password field on this one.
- Two-factor prompt, if an authenticator is set up for your account. The page is called „Bestätigung in zwei Schritten“ (Two-step confirmation) and wants the six-digit code.
- Choose a workspace, if you are a member of more than one. With a single membership the step is skipped.
- Company sign-in, if the chosen workspace requires it.
Several workspaces
If you are a member of several workspaces, verstag asks which one it should be after sign-in. Below the list sits a checkbox:

That makes the chosen workspace the default and drops the question next time. A workspace that requires the company account for sign-in cannot be pinned as the default.
Switching later happens in the user menu at the bottom left of the sidebar. The group inside it is headed „Tenant“; elsewhere the product says „Arbeitsbereich“ (workspace).
When the workspace requires the company account
A workspace can make sign-in through its own identity provider mandatory. Sign-in with e-mail and password does not then fail — it simply does not lead into that workspace.
The way in is on the same sign-in page. „Mit Unternehmenskonto anmelden“ (Sign in with the company account) below the password field removes that field and asks only for your e-mail address; „Weiter“ (Continue) forwards you to your company’s identity provider, after which you return here automatically. „Zurück zur Anmeldung mit Passwort“ (Back to sign-in with a password) leads back.
If your address belongs to several workspaces, verstag asks one step further on:

Several workspaces belong to this e-mail address. Please say which one you want — your workspace’s address is part of the SSO address your workspace administration gave you.
What is meant is only the short handle out of that address; the example under the
field reads beispiel-ag. You get it from your workspace administration.
The button after a link from an e-mail
The password-reset link and the address-change link lead to a page with a button:

For safety, the link from the e-mail is only redeemed with this click.
One click and you carry on. If part of the link is missing, the page says „Link unvollständig“ (Incomplete link) — it was truncated when it was copied.
The invitation link has no such intermediate step; it leads straight to the invitation page.
If it does not work
„E-Mail oder Passwort ist falsch“ (E-mail or password is wrong). One of the two does not match.
„Zu viele Anmeldeversuche. Bitte versuche es in einigen Minuten erneut.“ (Too many sign-in attempts. Please try again in a few minutes.) That is a timed lockout; wait a few minutes and try again.
„Kein Zugang“ (No access). The sign-in worked, but your account belongs to no workspace. Contact an administrator.
