Your first labelled output
From the file to the signed result, in one pass.
At the end there is a file with a visible AI label and embedded Content Credentials — and the uploaded original is still there, unchanged.
The signed-in product speaks German, so its labels and messages are quoted in German below, with the English rendering in italics.
Before you start
- Access to a workspace. Every role may upload and produce outputs.
- An image file as PNG or JPEG. The library upload — „Library“ in the sidebar — takes PNG, JPEG, MP4 and MOV; other formats can be verified but not edited.
- At least one label family set up. Without one, the editor shows a pointer to Einstellungen → Labels (Settings → Labels) instead of the label controls.
The steps
1 · Upload
The upload area sits at the top of every library view — drag files onto it, or use „Dateien auswählen“ (Choose files). Beside it is the choice of where the file goes. If you choose nothing, it lands under „Unsortiert“ (Unsorted) and will not be in the folder you look in.
2 · Wait for the verification to settle
After the upload verstag verifies the file’s Content Credentials. While that runs, the tile carries the status „Verify läuft …“ (Verification running …) and the editor shows a yellow bar:

There is nothing to do. You can close the tab; the verification carries on.
3 · Open the asset
Click the tile. The editor shows the picture on the left, the derivative settings on the right, and above them the two editing steps „Zuschnitt“ (Crop) and „AI-Label“.
4 · Choose a format and a crop
The „Zuschnitt“ step holds the „Format“ section. The tiles are target sizes, not file types — Instagram Portrait, LinkedIn, Story / Reel and so on. For each format you pick a crop mode; with „Freiform“ (Freeform) you drag the frame yourself.
The tile „Original“ is preselected when the editor opens. It produces an output at native size, without a crop, with the label applied — its subtitle says as much: „nur Label · native Größe“ (label only · native size).
5 · Set the visible AI label
The „AI-Label“ step holds the controls for the label: the „Label-Familie“ (label family) — only where more than one is set up — the „Variante“ (variant), „Größe & Rand“ (size & margin), the „Rotation“ and the „Platzierung“ (placement). The last of these is normally an anchor picked from a grid; with „Größe & Rand“ set to „Manuell“ (manual) the label can be dragged freely instead.
The preview shows the label in place. What counts is always the finished output file.
6 · Save
The save button reads „Derivat speichern“ (Save derivative) and sits below the specification — only in the „AI-Label“ step.
Saving starts the render straight away. The output is signed as it is produced, not when it is downloaded.
7 · Download the result
The „Downloads“ drawer in the editor header lists finished outputs under „Derivate“ (Derivatives). Once a row reads „Fertig“ (Done), „Datei herunterladen“ (Download file) hands you the signed file.
The result
A derivative: a new file with the visible AI label in the picture and the Content Credentials inside the file. The uploaded original is untouched and stays downloadable.
What can go wrong
The editor will not respond. See step 2 — verification is still running. If it says „Dieses Asset ist noch nicht verifiziert. Starte die Prüfung, bevor du Derivate definierst.“ (This asset has not been verified yet. Start the check before you define derivatives.) instead, it was never started; press „Jetzt prüfen“ (Verify now) in the bar.
An output appears at the original size when a format was meant. The „Original“ tile is the default. Change nothing and that is exactly what you get — a derivative at native size with a label.
The save button is not there. You are in the „Zuschnitt“ step. In its place stands the way forward: „Weiter zu Labeling“ (Continue to labelling) — that is the „AI-Label“ tab.
„Ausgabegröße zu klein für ein Label“ (Output too small for a label). At this output size no label is burnt in. Set „Größe & Rand“ (Size & margin) to „Manuell“ (Manual), or choose a larger format.
The render is refused with a quota card. Every output produced spends one signing run from your plan. Once the allowance is used up, no further output is produced.
The downloaded original carries no label and no verstag signature. The downloads drawer marks the row with „ohne Label“ (no label) and „ohne Signatur“ (no signature). If the file arrived carrying a third-party manifest — from a camera, from another tool — that manifest is preserved, and the row reads „enthält Manifest“ (contains a manifest) instead. Pass the original on and you pass on an unlabelled file.
