Workspaces
What a workspace is, how to switch between several — and what a member sees of it.
A workspace — headed „Tenant“ in the user menu — is the container for everything: assets, folders, outputs, settings and records. It has a name and a unique short form.
Whoever works in it holds exactly one of three roles: „Inhaber“ (owner), „Admin“ or „Mitglied“ (member). New memberships start as a member.
The signed-in product speaks German, so its labels are quoted in German throughout, with the English rendering in italics.
Switching between several
One account can belong to several workspaces at once. The switcher sits at the foot of the sidebar, in the menu under your name — the same place as „Account-Einstellungen“ (account settings) and „Abmelden“ (sign out).
The list appears only from two memberships on. Anyone belonging to a single workspace sees no switcher.
The one currently open carries a tick and is not clickable; its name also sits in the second line of the menu button.
After switching, the application reloads and opens „Prüfen“ (Verify).
When you are asked which one is meant
After signing out, after a browser restart and on a new device, verstag asks again. You then land on „Arbeitsbereich wählen“ (Choose workspace) with the subtitle „Du gehörst zu mehreren Arbeitsbereichen.“ (You belong to several workspaces.)
There is a checkbox there: „Diese Auswahl merken und künftig direkt öffnen“ (Remember this choice and open it directly in future). It sets the same default as the account page.
If your account belongs to no workspace at all, the same page shows the card „Kein Zugang“ (No access).
The default workspace
You set it on your account page, in a section of its own — and only if you belong to more than one workspace. At most one workspace per account can be the default.
„Jedes Mal fragen“ (Ask every time) releases the pinning again.
A workspace requiring sign-in through its own identity provider cannot be pinned. The row stays visible, is disabled and names the reason. If every selectable workspace requires it, the checkbox on the selection page goes away too.
What a member sees
A member does not see the „Einstellungen“ (Settings) menu entry — and with it none of the sub-pages. Anyone opening the address directly gets a "not found" page. The member list of their own workspace stays hidden as well.
What remains are three areas: „Prüfen“, „Library“ and „Batches“. A member reaches their personal area through „Account-Einstellungen“ at the foot of the sidebar.
Where a member hits an exhausted allowance, they get no link to billing but a sentence pointing at the owner.
How a workspace comes about
Through public registration. It creates workspace, settings and the owner membership in one go.
Inside the application there is no surface through which a signed-in account creates another one. A second registration does not create one either: where the account already belongs to a workspace, it leads back into the existing one.
A second workspace therefore arrives through an invitation or through the identity provider. An accepted invitation becomes the active workspace immediately.
